A journey to see the world...

...or even worlds within the world.

Hi, my name is Oliver (Wayan in Bali), I'm an independent photographer and communication trainer and one day, after an accident, I had to make choices about life, so I decided to travel the world. It was june 20th 2016...

Traveling is not only moving from one place to the other, it's also getting richer at any and every step, richer in emotions, in experiences, in connections and relationships.

How many of you (I mean us)  are thinking:
"I would love to do..., but..."
...but I cannot, because I have a job/family/kids/money issues etc..
...but what happens when I am back?
...but, but, but... so many excuses.
We almost all dream of adventures, but don't take risks.
We almost all dream of flying, but stay in our nest.

Is it fear? Is it comfort?

All revolution started with a single person having a dream.
All big changes started in a garage, a basement or by accident.

The Makasii Project is nothing more, nothing less, just an accident, a scar who turned to be an adventure, with its changes, its surprises and many destinations to come, many people to be met, many experiences to be shared.

Makasii (or ma'kasih, short way of saying thank you in Indonesian - "Terima Kasih") is my journey as a photographer, traveling the world as a nomad. My way to say THANK YOU to my friends for their support, THANK YOU to all and each person who cross my path.
THANK YOU for your smiles,
THANK YOU for the time spent together,
THANK YOU for the value of what we share together.
To all of you I see every day, for so many unforgettable moments,

Terima Kasih!

The day after the Riot in Istanbul, July 15th 2016

IT'S MORE THAN PICTURES OF AMAZING PLACES. IT'S THE QUESTION ABOUT LIFE, ABOUT PEOPLE, ABOUT OUR BEHAVIORS AND HOW OUR WORLD IS OR SHOULD BE.

If you land here and like what you see, take your time to travel a bit with us. No need to share it on any social medias pages, no need to promote it, I just want you to think, for yourself:

What DO I WANT?
What WILL I DO?
Who do I want to be?
What risks do I want to take?
What mistakes would I love to make to get better and stronger?

then, close this browser, shut down your computer and go out, meet people, walk down the street, wearing your best smile, say hello to a stranger without expectation, sit down somewhere without touching your smartphone and watch around...

please, don't follow... be part of it!

Normally, at the top or the bottom of any website, in the press or in the advertising, you find links to social media platform with the mention "Follow US".
I mean, I used to teach the advantages of social medias, their power and strength for companies and the development of businesses, I did it on my own webpages and it's a powerful tool, it's a great way to promote your work, to find customers, get in touch with friends, keep in touch with your family...
But why is this need to follow others so strong?
Why staying passive behind a screen, like me right now writing those lines?
Why wishing what others have, when opening a door and going out is so easy.
An adventure doesn't cost thousands of Dollars, Euro or Yen, an adventure is a dream we want to reach, a destination we want to see, a friend we want to visit. Of course you're welcome at any time on this page and I'd be more than happy to have a message, a visit or share a drink with YOU!
Promise me just, that you'll have a dream, that you'll believe in (doesn't matter how big) and you'll realise it!!!!
Don't simply follow, join! Come to my side and let's discover the world together!
Namaste.

Thank you so much for your time and have a wonderful day.
